“You can’t sell anything if you can’t tell anything.”
I have lived by Beth Comstock's advice "you can't sell anything if you can't tell anything" before I even realized it. Throughout my college and professional career, I have used the power of storytelling to inform, motivate, and empower those around me.
I thrive breaking down complex ideas and realities into digestible information by real stories that people can connect to. When I served as the Executive Producer of Annenberg TV News at the University of Southern California, I reported on hard news through the lens of one or multiple people's experiences. The goal was to connect with viewers, grabbing their interest and sending a clear message all while hitting breaking news deadlines for the live, half-hour broadcast.
After graduation, I applied my storytelling skills to the bipartisan, political non-profit American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) in development/fundraising. For six years, every day I would deliver Middle East briefings to key New York City stakeholders and ask them to deepen their investment in the organization. I shared the non-profit's impact through success stories, passionately painting a vivid picture of how our strategy is effective -- showing, rather than telling, a stakeholder about the ROI of their investment.
As the founder of Write For The Job, I help clients land jobs that make them happy by crafting their professional story in their resume, cover letter, and/or Linkedin profile. My natural curiosity enables me to connect with clients and learn about their professional experiences, so I can identify and articulate the most compelling parts of their story that will resonate with the hiring manager.
